Component 2 Section B: Music Resource

Media Studies
KS4 >

A set of engaging interactive resources to support the teaching of the Music topic in the new GCSE Media Studies specification. The introductory activities can be used to develop learners' understanding of the topic, and there is a detailed focus on Social Media and its importance to the music industry. The classroom activities relate to the different areas of the theoretical framework, with a clear emphasis on textual analysis. There are resources, including a detailed factsheet, for each of the set music videos from the 1980s and early 1990s.

'Fair dealing' of third party materials is used for criticism and review purposes however if there are omissions or inaccuracies please inform us so that any necessary corrections can be made resources@eduqas.co.uk.

While all resources were correct at the time of publishing, teachers should be aware that things move quickly in the media industry and should therefore check that the information is still current and correct.

Please note that the set products prescribed for study are changed periodically and, although we do update our resource pages regularly, there may be some instances of resources referencing historical set products. Centres should ensure they refer to the latest version of the specification, available on the qualification webpage, for full details of current set products and requirements.
