This interactive KS3 unit of work supports the teaching of pupils' reading of 20th century fiction texts using an extract from a short story by Janet Frame. The tasks are structured to develop pupils' understanding of the writer's craft and to develop their evaluation skills. There are lots of opportunities for pupils to give their opinions or make judgments using apt evidence from the text.
